On March 17, 2021, via webinar platform, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Associate Professor Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Ph.D., Director of the Ramathibodi School of Nursing, presided over the virtual meeting “COVID-19 and Its Disruptive Effects on the Nursing Education: Future, Policy and Strategic Plans” (COVIDNEd 2021). On this special occasion, Professor Suchatvee Suwansawat, Ph.D., Rector of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, kindly gave a special lecture on “Transforming the educational model during COVID-19 to Improve learning outcomes: Rethinking what really matters and what we should do moving forward?”.

This virtual conference was co-hosted by the Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, University of Technology, Sydney, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Deakin University, University of Hong Kong Taipei Medical University, St. Luke’s International University, National University of Singapore, University of Massachusetts Amherst Kunming Medical University, Osaka Prefecture University, in hope to expand the international collaboration among Nursing instructor, students as well as another faculty staff, exchanging academic knowledge, experience on research and teaching, learning management and know-how to apply various innovations during the epidemic situation of COVID-19. This virtual conference was held during March 17-18, 2021.

Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, and National Taiwan University, Taiwan, celebrated the successful launch of a virtual exchange activity on February 23, 2021. On this occasion, Dr. Ying-Yuan Lee, the Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, honored the event by giving an opening speech, following by speech from Prof. Yen-Hsuan Ni, Dean, National Taiwan University College of Medicine (NTUCM), and finally, greeting from Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.
This virtual exchange activity started with short presentations of the 2 institutes’ backgrounds. Following with the presentations from the perspective of students, both from Ramathibodi and NTUCM, on the topic; Education under COVID-19. All participants listened attentively to the presentations and both sides learned and became more curious about their partner country, its education system, and culture, in addition to exchanging information and asking questions about the measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries.
This activity aims to encourage the medical students from both Ramathibodi and NTUCM to share and exchange their knowledge despite the pandemic era.

 

Tohoku University, Japan, and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, celebrated the successful launch of a virtual exchange program on February 11, 2021. 28 medical students from the 1st to 5th years participated in this collaborative session 



The first session started with presentations by the students introducing the two universities. Participants from both countries then gave excellent talks on the topic of "The Learning Experience During the Covid-19 Outbreak". All participants listened attentively to the presentations and both sides learned and became more curious about their partner country, its education system and culture, in addition to exchanging information and asking questions about the measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries.



This activity aims to encourage the medical students from both Ramathibodi and Tohoku to share and exchange their knowledge despite the pandemic era.

 
On February 9, 2021, 18.00 P.M. – 19.00 P.M, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, hosted a Virtual Exchange Activity with Juntendo University, Japan, via the web conferencing platform Zoom. The Virtual Exchange Activity in this time was held under the theme of HIV comprised the special lectures on "Update in HIV Treatment and Prevention" presented  by Dr. Rapeephan R. Maude, M.D., M.Sc., DTM&H from Ramathibodi side, while another lecture was on "HIV Research: Analysis of National database and Development of the application for STD,  etc." presented by Assoc. Prof. Mai Suzuki.
 
This activity was counted as the 2nd Virtual Exchange Activity with Juntendo University, aims to encourage the medical students from both Ramathibodi and Juntendo to share and exchange their knowledge despite the pandemic era.
 
 

 

 

On December 23, 2020, 18.00 P.M. – 19.00 P.M, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, hosted a Virtual Exchange Activity with Kansai Medical University, Japan, via the web conferencing platform Zoom.



This installment of the Virtual Exchange Activity, titled "Learning Experience During Covid-19 Outbreak", included medical students from both Ramathibodi and Kansai Medical University to share and exchange their experience as the medical students studying through the era of the pandemic.

 

On December 1st, 2020, during 6.00 PM - 7.30 PM, staff from International Relations Ramathibodi had the pleasure to host and moderate a Virtual Academic Mobility Session between Ramathibodi and Juntendo University, Japan, via the online meeting platform Zoom.

Featuring 30-minute lectures from Assoc. Prof. Porpon Rotjanapan, M.D., the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University about Interferon Gamma, and Assoc. Prof. Hirotake Mori, M.D., DTMH, Ph.D., Juntendo University, on COVID-19 in Japan, the event had a total audience of 61 participants which included a number of interested students from Ramathibodi and Juntendo.

Shinshu University School of Medicine (SUSM) and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University (RAMA) celebrated the successful launch of a virtual exchange program on October 28, 2020. Approximately 20 medical students from the 1st to 5th years participated in this collaborative session and more than 20 faculty and staff members from both universities happily watched their students' presentations and discussions.



This first session started with presentations by the students introducing the two universities. Participants from both countries then gave excellent talks on the topic of "The Learning Experience During the Covid-19 Outbreak". All participants listened attentively to the presentations and both sides learned and became more curious about their partner country, its education system and culture, in addition to exchanging information and asking questions about the measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries.



Both student groups ended the session promising to continue their collaboration, and SUSM and RAMA will continue to support this initiative.

During November 3-4, 2020, via the online platform, Webinar, Prof.Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, along with Prof.Ken Nakata, M.D., Director of Center of Global Health, Osaka University. Japan, provided the opening remarks and keynote speeches for the 5th Joint Conference Ramathibodi-Osaka University 2020, under the main theme “Global Collaboration to fight COVID-19”. On the first day of the conference, Dr.Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn, M.D., Executive Director of ASEAN University Network – Health Promotion Network, kindly provided the keynote speech on “How can a county control effectively prevent the spread of Coronavirus-2019: a Case Study from Thailand”. While on the 2nd day, Dr.Pattanasak Monkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University, kindly gave a presentation on "Disruptive pandemic: Is it a new normal?".
 
The conference comprised not only the honorable speakers from Japan and Thailand but also from Indonesia, South Korea, and France, aiming to provide the updates of each countries’ efforts on COVID-19 as well as to share their experience towards the situation of the pandemic.
 
The COVID-19 outbreak might disrupt everyday life for billions around the globe, however, at the same time, this crisis proves that strong international collaboration and partnership are the important keys to success in order to overcome this crisis and recover together.

On this special occasion, Dr.Sirasak Teparkum, Deputy CEO, TCELS; .Assoc.Prof.Rutaiwan Tohtong, Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Research and International Relations, representative of the Faculty of Science Mahidol University, and Mr. Chernporn Tengamnuay, Managing Director of Greater Co., Ltd. attended the event as the representatives of each organization.
