Virtual Exchange Activity with UK Fellows
April 21, 2022, 13.00 PM – 14.30 PM, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, provided a warm opening speech to the Virtual Exchange Activity via the Zoom online platform.
The session started with the lecture on “Experience of working through Covid-19 in the UK”, presented by Dr. Kavita Patel, from Barts Health NHS Trust, and another presentation was presented by Dr. Rebecca Lissmann from Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust; “Feminism in medicine” Both Dr. Kavita Patel and Dr. Rebecca Lissmann are the medical fellows selected by the Health Education England (HEE), one unit in the NHS or the National Health Service - the publicly funded healthcare system in England.
This online meeting focused on exchanging knowledge and experience through the presentation and discussion which bring more opportunities and broader viewpoints from the medical professionals from UK to the undergraduate medical students. The event ended with the Q&A session which also received a lot of attention from all participants and was successful with 49 observers. This is also a great opportunity to create, grow and enhance the framework for Global Health Partnership opportunities for the future.

Closing Ceremony of the “24th Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from Laos PDR”
On March 17, 2022, at the Sra Pathum Palace, Bangkok, and via the Zoom virtual platform, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn gave an audience to the 42 trainees, lecturers, representatives, and managers from all 9 short course trainings within the “24th Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from Laos PDR”, regarding the closing ceremony of the training program which held during February 1 – March 17, 2022.
On this occasion, from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, which is in charge of the short course training on Hospital Administration, Pediatric Nursing, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynecology, Assistant Professor Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, Assistant Professor Oraporn Dumrongwongsiri, M.D. from Department of Pediatrics, as well as Associate Professor Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Ph.D., Director of the Ramathibodi School of Nursing, had an audience with Her Royal Highness at the Sra Pathum Palace.
This annual training program has been initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in hope of medical knowledge contribution to Health Personnel from Laos PDR.

The 3rd Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology and the Transmed Day 2022
March 11, 2022, via the WEBEX online platform, Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi Medical School, along with Professor Chau-Ti Ting, Ph.D., Director, Center for International Academic Exchange, College of Life Science, National Taiwan University, kindly presided over “the 3rd Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology and the Transmed Day 2022” which is the academic collaboration event between Mahidol University, National Sun Yat-sen University and National Taiwan University. On this occasion, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, Dr.Meng-Shin Shiao, operated as the moderator, while at the end of the event, Professor Duangrurdee Wattanasirichaigoon, M.D., Ph.D., provided the closing remark.
This Forum was a part of the official collaborative activities which has been established since 2017. The 3rd Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology and the Transmed Day 2022 was organized with the aim to encourage postgraduate students and staff of the Translational Medicine Program from the tripartite to experience in presenting and sharing their knowledge and experience at the international academic forum. The virtual forum was successfully completed with 80 participants.

French Ambassador Visits Ramathibodi
On February 21, 2022, at Meeting Room no.1, Office of the Dean, Administrative Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., the Dean, together with Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, as well as the faculty members of the Faculty, provided warm welcomed to H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand and the honorable delegates from the French Embassy in Bangkok on the occasion of their official courtesy call. The meeting comprised the brief introduction of Ramathibodi, the presentation sessions by the leading researchers, as well as a visit to study the operation of the organ transplant center Under the Center of Excellence, Human Genetics Laboratory, and Research Center of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.

1st "Online Manuscript Workshop"
เมื่อวันที่ 25 มกราคม 2565 ศ.นพ.ปิยะมิตร ศรีธรา คณบดี คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล พร้อมด้วย Dr.Sengchanh Kounnavong ผู้แทนสถาบันสาธารณสุขศาสตร์และการแพทย์เขตร้อน เป็นประธานร่วมในการเปิดงานและกล่าวต้อนรับคณะผู้เข้าร่วม "โครงการฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการเพื่อตีพิมพ์ผลงานวิจัยร่วมกับสถาบันสาธารณสุขและการแพทย์เขตร้อน Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute สปป.ลาว" ผ่านระบบออนไลน์ ครั้งที่ 1
คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล เริ่มมีความร่วมมือกับสถาบันสาธารณสุขและการแพทย์เขตร้อน สปป.ลาว (Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute: Lao TPHI) โดยการเยือนของคณะผู้บริหารเมื่อปี 2559 นำไปสู่ความร่วมมือในการจัดทำการวิจัยเรื่องการสำรวจสุขภาพประชาชน National Health Examination Survey โดยใช้ผลที่ได้จากการสำรวจของโครงการดังกล่าว นำมาเป็นหัวข้อการเขียนผลงานวิจัยในด้านโรคไม่ติดต่อ เช่น โรคหัวใจ การบริโภคเกลือ ดัชนีมวลกาย การบริโภคแอลกอฮอร์ โรคความดันโลหิต โรคเบาหวาน และการติดเชื้อจากหนอนพยาธิ เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมตีพิมพ์ผลงานวิจัยในวารสารวิชาการทางการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขในระดับนานาชาติ โดยคาดว่าจะสามารถจัดการฝึกอบรมครั้งที่ 2 ขึ้นในช่วงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์หรือมีนาคม 2022 ต่อไป
On January 25, 2022, Prof. Piyamit Sritara, M.D., Dean, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, together with Dr. Sengchanh Kounnavong, representative of the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute (Lao TPHI), co-chaired the opening ceremony and welcomed the delegates of the "Online Manuscript workshop" via the ZOOM online platform.
Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, initiated the official cooperation with the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute (Lao TPHI) since the official visit to Laos PDR by Ramathibodi's administrative team in 2016 which later led to the collaboration in organizing the research project on the National Health Examination Survey using a survey form. (Questionnaire) and research criteria (Protocol) from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The"Online Manuscript workshop" in this time was arranged in order to ensure the continuity in cooperation between Ramathibodi and Lao TPHI, as well as being able to use the survey results to plan the further public health system and develop Lao's national public health policies for preventing the health problems related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and to promote the academic cooperation and research in the medical and public health development in Southeast Asia.

The 6th Joint Conference Ramathibodi - Osaka University
During November 29-30, 2021, the Center for Global Health, Osaka University, and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, cooperatively held the 6th Joint Conference under the theme of “Cutting-edge Innovation on COVID-19 and Beyond” via the online platform, ZOOM.
 
 
The conference started with meaningful opening remarks from Prof.Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, and the greeting from his Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., followed by the Keynote speech on “The Olympic & Paralympic Games during COVID-19 pandemic” by Prof.Ken Nakata, M.D., Director of Center of Global Health, Osaka University,  Japan, who was also the keynote speaker of the conference on the first day. While Asst.Prof.Sirintorn Chansirikarnjana, M.D. from Ramathibodi’s Division of Geriatrics Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, and Prof. Roger Frutos, Director of Research at CIRAD (International Research Center for agronomy and Development), University of Montpellier, France, served as the keynote speakers for the second day on the topics regarding “Toward High Dream: Dementia Friendly Community” and “International academic and research collaborations: the DYNAMEID Master program and the International Doctoral School in Health” respectively. The 2 day- virtual conference also comprised the lectures and presentations on various topics, including COVID-19 update, Rare disease, New diagnostic tool for COVID-19 using AI, Aging society, Antimicrobial Resistance, Reports from Orthopedics research, and more. 
 

The joint conference between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and the Center for Global Health, Osaka University, has been running annually for six years while this is the 2nd year the conference moved to the virtual platform due to the COVID-19 disruption. The conference was a success, with more than 100 participants registered to join the event.

The Last COIL virtual activity with Shinshu
November 29, 2021, 12.30 PM – 13.30 PM, Shinshu University School of Medicine, Japan, together with the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, joined together in co-hosting a Virtual Exchange Activity under the theme of "Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)" which had been officially running once a week since November 8, 2021, via the web conferencing platform Zoom. The event was successful with 110 registered participants from both Ramathibodi and Shinshu joining in the interesting small group discussion sessions including the topics "Student bonding activity (extra-curriculum life)" On this occasion, Prof. Naoki Tanaka, Professor of the International Relations Office in Shinshu University School of Medicine, also attended the activity as the host of COIL’s activity.
This was the last time of the virtual activity under the theme of COIL cooperating between Ramathibodi and Shinshu which aimed to encourage the medical students - from both Ramathibodi and Shinshu - to share and exchange their knowledge experience as well as to promote students' opportunities in practicing English communication skill despite the pandemic era.

2nd Virtual Academic Mobility with NTUCM: COVID vaccination

November 17, 2021, 04.30 – 06.00 P.M., the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, together with National Taiwan University College of Medicine, Taiwan, co-hosted the Virtual Academic Mobility via the web conferencing platform Zoom under the theme of “Current situation of COVID-19 Vaccination in Thailand and in Taiwan”. This event was the 2nd Virtual Academic Mobility program organized by the International Relations between the 2 institutes, aiming to exchange and discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the COVID-19 vaccine management. On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Jumpee Granger, Deputy Director for International Relations, Ramathibodi School of Nursing, along with Dr.Meng-Shin Shiao, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations provided short greetings to the participants on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital; while Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawaong, M.D., the other Assistant Dean for International Relations of Ramathibodi, and Prof. Cheryl Chia-Hui Chen, Associate Dean for International Affairs of NTUCM, kindly attended the event as the observers.

The virtual event had attracted 60 participants from both Ramathibodi and NTUCM. During the event, students from both sides had shared their opinions and knowledge regarding the type’s availability, the guidelines, vaccines’ potential, sequences, current situation of vaccination in the countries, as well as their point of view about administration plan and research of the COVID-19 vaccination.

วันที่16 พฤศจิกายน 2564  ศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์ปิยะมิตร ศรีธรา คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล คุณอุรีรัชต์ เจริญโต อธิบดีกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และท่าน จันทะหนอม มะนีทิบ ปลัดกระทรวงสาธารณสุข สปป.ลาว ได้ร่วมเป็นประธานในพิธีปิดโครงการสำรวจสุขภาพประชาชนลาว (National Health Examination Survey) ผ่านระบบประชุมทางไกล โดยมี ศาสตราจารย์ แพทย์หญิงศิรินธรา สิงหรา ณ อยุธยา รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และความร่วมมือวิจัยต่างประเทศ ศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์บุญส่ง องค์พิพัฒนกุล รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิจัย และคณาจารย์ของคณะฯ เข้าร่วมพิธีที่ ห้องประชุม 1 สำนักงานคณบดี  โดยโครงการนี้เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี กับสถาบันการแพทย์เขตร้อน และสาธารณสุข สปป.ลาว (Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute) โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนงบประมาณจากกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ โดยมี ศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์วิชัย เอกพลากร เป็นหัวหน้าโครงการ

โครงการสำรวจสุขภาพประชาชนลาว (National Health Examination Survey) ได้เริ่มดำเนินโครงการฯ มาตั้งแต่เดือนกุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2563 และแล้วเสร็จไปเมื่อช่วงเดือนมีนาคม พ.ศ. 2564 เป็นการสำรวจสุขภาพจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างประชากรชาวลาวทั่วทั้ง 17 แขวง และนครหลวงเวียงจันทน์ ของสปป.ลาว มีกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ได้รับการสำรวจกว่า 3,000 คน เป็นการทำวิจัยโดยใช้แบบการสำรวจ (Questionnaire) เกณฑ์วิธีการทำวิจัย (Protocol) และการสนับสนุนด้านวิชาการทางห้องปฏิบัติการทางการแพทย์ (Laboratory Medicine) ซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นโดยคณาจารย์ภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ชุมชน และภาควิชาพยาธิวิทยา คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ซึ่งผลการสำรวจที่ได้จะนำไปใช้เป็นข้อมูลในการวางแผนด้านสาธารณสุขของ สปป.ลาว การจัดทำนโยบายการป้องกันโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง (NCDs) และการสร้างความร่วมมือในการวิจัยด้านการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขระหว่าง ไทย และ สปป.ลาว ในการนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์สุรศักด์ กันตชูเวสศิริ ได้ร่วมให้การแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้เรื่อง การผลักดันนโยบายลดเค็ม ที่ประสบความสำเร็จในประเทศไทย

On November 16, 2021, Prof. Piyamit Sritara, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University; Ms.Ureerat Charoento, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr.Chanthanom Manithip, Director-General of the Cabinet, Ministry of Public Health, Lao PDR, presided over the closing ceremony of the National Health Examination Survey Project via teleconference system. On this occasion, Prof.Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations; Prof. Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, Deputy Dean for Research, as well as the faculty members of the Faculty, attended the ceremony at the Meeting Room no.1, Office of the Dean. The National Health Examination Survey Project is a collaboration project between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute, receiving financial supports from TICA, MOF, and having Prof. Wichai Aekplakorn from Ramathibodi's Department of Community Medicine as the project leader.

The National Health Examination Survey Project had started in February 2020 and was completed in March 2021. The health survey was conducted among the Lao population living in 17 provinces as well as Vientiane. The survey of more than 3,000 people was survey-based research by Questionnaire, Protocol, and academic support for laboratory medicine; all developed by the faculty members in the Department of Community Medicine and the Department of Pathology of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The results of the survey will be used as the basic information for Lao PDR's public health planning, policy formulation of non-communicable diseases prevention (NCDs), and the establishment of further medical and public health research collaboration between the Lao PDR and Thailand. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Surasak Kantachuvesiri participated in the exchange of knowledge about Advocating for a salt reduction policy success in Thailand via the online meeting system.

November 15, 2021, 12.30 PM – 13.30 PM, Shinshu University School of Medicine, Japan, together with the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, co-hosted a Virtual Exchange Activity under the theme of "Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)" via the web conferencing platform Zoom. The registered participants of the virtual event, which amounted to 52 attendees from both Ramathibodi and Shinshu, joined in the interesting small group discussion sessions including the topics about “Activity after school, hobby, How to make friends and cultivate friendship”, “Activity after school, Trend in Thailand/Japan, Food culture and habits”, “Activity after school, Communication between students, How to eat dinner with students”, “Activity after school, How to study every day, Trend in Thailand/Japan”, “Activity after school, School activity under pandemic, How to learn English”, and last but not least, “COVID-19, Attraction of Thailand/Japan”. On this occasion, Prof. Naoki Tanaka, Professor of the International Relations Office in Shinshu University School of Medicine, also attended the activity as the host of COIL’s activity, while Asst.Prof.Suchin Worrawichawong, Assistant Dean for International Relations of Ramathibodi, kindly attended the event as the observer.

The event, which attracted 55 attendees from both institutes in this time, comprised various interesting group discussion sessions including the topics about "Online Well-Being", "Academic (School Curriculum)", and "Student bonding activity" participated by both Thai and Japanese students sharing their college life that occurs during the era of the pandemic, facing obstacles from various changes due to the online learning, overcoming stress and pressure situation, as well as how to relax in their free time even in the very restriction measures. On this occasion, Prof. Naoki Tanaka, Professor of the International Relations Office in Shinshu University School of Medicine, also attended the activity as the host of COIL’s activity, while Asst.Prof.Suchin Worrawichawong, Assistant Dean for International Relations of Ramathibodi, kindly attended the event as the observer.

Since the Virtual Exchange Activity has been initiated in September 2020 by the International Relations Sections of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital; in the hope to promote international cooperation in spite of the pandemic situation, Shinshu University School of Medicine has sent students and professors to participate in this virtual event consistently. The Virtual Exchange Activity under the theme of "Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)" is agreed to be conducted in the 1st – 4th week of November 2021 in the hope to encourage the medical students - from both Ramathibodi and Shinshu - to share and exchange their knowledge experience as well as to promote students' opportunities in practicing English communication skill despite the pandemic era.
