On Jan 20, 2020, at Meeting Room no.1, the 12 visitors from Ministry of Health, Lao People's Democratic Republic paid visit to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital regarding the site visit at the Center for Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Professional Education (CPD) system for Medical Profession, Nursing – Midwifery, CPD program, curriculum development, organizing training course, meeting, seminar and other capacity-building course for health personnel including recognition.

On this ocassion Assoc. Prof. Nalinee Chongviriyaphan, M.D., Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Culture, along with Ramathibodi's CME team provided warmly welcome in the morning session, while Associate professor Dr. Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing and Associate professor Dr. Manee Arpanantikul, Assistant Director for Academic Services, was the host for the afternoon session.

 

On January 7th, 2020, The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, is proud to open 3 new nursing programs with the cooperation of leading international universities: UIC College of Nursing, University of Illinois Chicago, Deakin University and Kunming University: Double Degrees (Ramathibodi-Deakin), Accelerated Program, and Dual Degree in Nursing and Medical epidemiology.

The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital School of Nursing held a press conference on this cooperation in education and research with foreign universities with Prof. Piyamitr Srithara, MD, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University along with Associate Professor Dr. Poolsuk Jenpanichvisuthiphan, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Professor Sirinthara Singhara Na Ayuthaya, M.D., Associate Dean for International Relations Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University; Prof. Dr. Terri E. Weaver M.D., Dean, UIC College of Nursing; Prof. Dr. Amarin Taksinthasathien, M.D., Head of Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University; and Assistant Professor Dr. Satirat Thadakan, M.D., Deputy Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Department of Nursing Science.

These new nursing education programs meet new nursing needs and demands that shift every day.

4th Joint Conference between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi and Center for Global Health, Osaka University Japan.
On December 2 and 3, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital hosted the 4th Joint Conference between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi and Center for Global Health, Osaka University Japan.
 
Over the past four years, Ramathibodi and Osaka University has cooperated and engaged in dialogue in a broad range of topics including Active Aging and Geriatric Care, Contemporary Cancer Treatment, Nursing Practices, and Medical Device Development and Regulation. In spirit of our ongoing collaboration and excitement together in such various topics, we held this session under the theme Collaborating Research, “Past & Future”. We were delighted to invite our guests from Osaka University, Ramathibodi, along with partnering and affiliate institutions to speak and network with us.
 
On the first day, we enjoyed an opening speech from Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., the Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication followed by a speech from our keynote speakers, Prof. Ken Nakata, Director, Center for Global Health, Osaka University Hospital; and Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
 
Following the opening session, we heard from Assoc. Prof. Daisaku Nakatani, Dept. of cardiovascular medicine and medical innovation, Center for Global Health, Department of Medical Innovation; and Prof. Suradej Hongeng, Assistant Dean for Research, Dept. of Pediatrics; on collaboration efforts and history between Ramathibodi and Osaka University.

On November 20, 2019, at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital, Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute (CNMI), Dr.Piroj Boonkongchuen, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital, warmly welcomed the group of Taiwanese visitors from several organizations led by Dr.Chen-Yuan Tung, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of Thailand. The main purpose of this visit is to share ideas and points of view towards using smart technology in health care systems in Taiwan and Thailand. 

 

In this occasion, Dr. Boonkongchuen was proud to present our facilities at CNMI to our honored guests, along with CNMI’s future plans to include a senior complex focusing on end-of-life care within the medical campus.

Prof. Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, MD, Deputy Dean for International Relations, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital - as one of the Program Directors of “PLANET Conference” (Pierre LAsjaunias Neurovascular Education Team Conference) - precisely attended and gave welcome and introduction at PLANET Course 2019 - Pierre Lasjaunias Neurovascular Education Team Conference; session 2 which is continued from the Session 1 held at Danag, Vietnam on March 2019. The program has continued to run successfully every year in various countries around the world and is recognized as the premier education program of teaching fundamentals of Interventional Neuroradiology worldwide.

The PLANET Course in Session 2 covered the natural history, imaging and treatment of aneurysms, cerebral arteriovenous malformations as well as arterial and venous ischemia both in adults and in children.

  

The goals of the program are to improve the level of knowledge of attendees in neurovascular anatomy, pathophysiology and clinical presentation of cerebrovascular diseases in adults and children. The material will be presented in the form of didactic lectures and the format of the program is intended to provide ample time for questions and discussion following each presentation. In addition there will be several workshops during each session allowing for interactive communication between students and teachers. Panel discussions of cases presented by the participants will facilitate further interactive participation by the students. Attendees are allowed to video or audio record all sessions.

 

 

During November 14-15, 2019, at National Museum of Singapore, Singapore; Prof.Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Professor of Radiology (INR) of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University precisely attended LINNC Seminar 2019 - Asia Edition, She had taken an important role as commentator in several cases and case discussion; along side with the other world classed experts such as Prof. Jacques MORET, Neurointerventionalist of Brain Vascular Center Baujon University Hospital and chairman of the event and more.

 

On November 15, 2019 at Meeting Room no.1, 6th floor, Lecture Hall, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University - Associate Professor Yuwares Sittichanbuncha. MD, Deputy Dean for Center of Excellence; along with Assistant Professor Kamthorn Malatham, MD, Deputy Director of Ramathibodi Hospital and Dr. Meng-Shin Shiao, Assistant Dean for International Relations; provided welcome to the representatives from National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, ROC China (Taiwan) including Associate Professor DAR-DER JI, Deputy Dean, Office of International Affairs/Head, Department of Tropical Medicine and Ms. YING-HWEI CHEN, Director of Academic-Industrial Collaboration of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences on occassion of courtesey visit and look for the opportunity to expand the collaboration in the area of Infectious Diseases and Medical Innovation. They also visited the Medical Innovations Development Center (MIND Center) with the warm welcome from Deputy Dean for Center of Excellence and the staff at the center.

 

 

November 13, 2019 at Suwattana Nontasut Meeting Room, Department of Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University; Prof.Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations, provided warm welcomed greetings to Prof. Alireza Radmanesh, Pediatric Neuroradiologist, a guest lecturer from the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR). The purpose of his visit was to give special lectures on several neuroradiological topics to Ramathibodi's Neuroradiologists, fellows and staff; during November 11 - 15, 2019.

Dr. Alireza (Ali) Radmanesh is an Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology at NYU School of Medicine in New York City, and an attending neuroradiologist at NYU Langone Medical Center. His main area of interest is Pediatric Neuroimaging. He was a radiology resident at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St Louis, a neuroradiology fellow at UCSF, and before coming to New York, a Clinical Instructor of Pediatric Neuroradiology at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco. In addition to publishing and reviewing for several neuroradiology and neurosurgery journals, Dr. Radmanesh is active in ASNR social media activities. He was awarded the Society for Pediatric Radiology grant to study the imaging biomarkers of pediatric mild traumatic brain injury.

 

November 4, 2019 - the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mahidol University (MU) and Fujita Health University, Japan, was held at VIP meeting Room, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus. The MOU was signed by the head executives of each institute including Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President of Mahidol University and Prof.Eiichi Saitoh, Executive Vice President of Fujita Health University. In the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Nopraenue Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, reported to the attendees of the ceremony on the rationale of the collaboration. Participants from Ramathibodi attending the ceremony included Asst.Prof.Suchin Worawichawong, Assistant Dean for International Relations; Dr.Poramed Chayaratanasin, Head of Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Dr.Paitoon Benjapornlert, lecturer from Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.

This MOU is signed with the aims to facilitate academic exchange activities including student, staff and reseach exchanges between the 2 institutes. 

 

 

October 6 - 9, 2019 at Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong; Prof.Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations, presided at Course in Functional Neurovascular Anatomy 2019, on her last duty as an Immediate Past President of World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN).

The Functional Neurovascular Anatomy course is a comprehensive and didactic review of the embryology and vascular anatomy of the spine, brain, and head and neck. The course comprises lectures, 3D anatomic sessions as well as interactive workshops on angiographic images and on workstations with 3D DSA images.The course has been created for neuroradiologists, radiologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons with particular interest in neurovascular diseases.

 

On October 3, 2019 at Meeting room no.2, Office of the Dean, Prof.Piyamitr Sritara, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with the board of executives provided the warm welcome for H.E. Mr. Seng Soukhathivong Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and his spouse, as well as Former Minister of Health for the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Dr.Eksavang Vongvichit and his spouse on occasion of their private visit.
