Braun (Thailand) Ltd. and The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Respect of Joint Cooperation in the Implementation of the Project “Improving Occupational Safety, Health of Healthcare Workers, and Patients in Public Hospitals in Thailand” took place on Monday 27 August 2018 at Meeting Room no.2, Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. On this occasion, Mr. Sayan Roy, Managing Director of B. On this occasion, Ribbon cutting ceremony for grand opening of the Center is honorably conducted by Dr. Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology.

 

 

During August 23rd – 24th, 2018, Dr.Chardpra-orn Ngarmukos, M.D., Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education; as representative of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, along with the other Mahidol's deans and executives attended the 7th ASEAN Medical Deans’ Summit hosted by Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam. The focus of the summit is on discussion about Medicaln education quality in ASEAN countries, Professional training after graduation, Promoting Research Culture, Student Exchange and possibility of establishing the international collaboration.

 

 

On August 8th 2018, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, presided over the International Symposium on Neuroscience and Global Health 2018 held at Conference Room No.810 A, Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building. Upon arrival, the Dean; along with Professor Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International, Professor Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, M.D., Deputy Dean for Research, Professor Wichai Aekpalakorn, M.D., Head of Department of Community Medicine and Professor Jiraporn Laothamatas, M.D., Director of Advanced diagnostic Imaging center; provided warmly welcome to His Excellency Mr.Prasitthiporn Wetprasit, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Norway, on the occasion of being honorable guest of the conference which was organized in commemoration of the fifty-third anniversary of the collaboration of Neuroscience Research and the 9th anniversary of general agreement for academic exchange between Mahidol University and University of Oslo.

The objective of the Symposium is to spread technical and research advances in the clinical, diagnostic and physiological aspects of Neuroscience and Global Health with special lectures from Prof. Dr. Ole Petter Ottersen, M.D., President  of Karlolinska Institute and Former President of the University of Oslo and Prof. Dr. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience of University of Oslo, as well as sharing knowledge with Assist. Jul 25, 2018 at Meeting Room No.1, Office of the Dean, Leacture Hall Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, H.E.Honourable Upendra Yadav, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, H.E.Dr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, together with the top level executives from the medical and nursing school in Nepal, paid visit to the Faculty with the warm welcome from Prof.Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, along with the other executives including Assoc. Prof. Dr.Renu Pookboonmee, Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Prof. Wichai Aekplakorn, M.D., Head of Department of Community Medicine; Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations; and the other faculty staff from Ramathibodi School of Nursing. They had got good opportunity to share and discuss about the possibility of collaboration on several research projects and site visit to the Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center, one of Ramathibodi’s hospital which managed to match the service standards of private hospitals.

 

 

Professor Shan-Chwen Chang, Dean, National Taiwan University, College of Medicine (NTUCM); accompanied by Professor Tsai-kun Li,Ph.D., Director, Office for International Affairs and the other 6 NTUCM’s executives officially visited Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University and were gladly welcomed by Prof.Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, Prof.Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and the other executives of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The purposes of their visit are to discuss about the possibility of leveling up the relationships between the two institutes by MOU signing and to visit the Ramathibodi Poison Center which is establish in order to strengthen physicians and health personnel in the management of poisoning, as well as to identify poisoning and toxic exposure problems and prevention of toxic exposure operates.

July 10, 2018, at Lecture Room no.624, Lecture Hall, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, along with Professor Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations provided a warming welcome to Ambassador Eynat Schlien, Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim from the Embassy of Israel to the Kingdom of Thailand, on occasion of her visit as the honorable guest for the opening session for The International Workshop on "Mass Casualty Incident Preparedness for Hospital's Medical Team" which co-hosted by Ramathibodi and the Embassy of Israel to the Kingdom of Thailand.

The workshop was conducted by 3 famous disaster management and mass casualty specialists from Israel including Dr. Odeda Benin Goren, Emergency Nurse and Senior Consultant for Emergency Preparedness, Assessment and Coordination in Disasters of ODRON, Mr.Ram NechemiaExecutive Master of Public Health, specialty in Emergency & Disaster Management of SHOONRA and Dr. Nimrod Aviran, M.D., Trauma Surgeon from Rabin Medical Center.

The workshop focused in the medical principles, response principles, decision making in strategically, tactical and operational level in emergencies with aims for acquainting the participants with emergency preparedness for mass events contingency plan, coordination and cooperation among the organizations involved with emergency preparedness and management, training team in emergency management in order to promote their ability to act in mass event and disaster and providing the participants a toolbox for emergency management.

The group, led by Dr.Agneta Ekman, Program Director, Program in Medicine and Dr. Amir Khorram-Manesh, Associate Professor of Surgery of The Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, had main purpose for dealing with the official MOU and visit the famous Emergency Medicine Ward and division of endoscopy at Somdetch Phra Debaratana Medical Center.

Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations along with the Assistant Dean for International Relations, Prof. Alisa Limsuwan, M.D., provided an amicable welcome for the members of Emory Health Against Human Trafficking (EHAHT), Emory University School of Medicine, led by Asst.Prof. Dafina M. Good, M.D., Pediatric Emergency Medicine Attending, George Washington University School of Medicine, Children’s National Medical Center, on occasion of site visit to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.

In the morning session, the visitors got opportunities to visit several parts of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital in Phayathai campus, including Emergency ward, pediatric emergency ward and simulation lab; with the warm welcomes provided by Asst.Prof.Uthen Pandee, M.D., Department of Pediatric and Dr.Arrug Wibulpolprasert, M.D., Department of Emergency Medicine.

Before the group left for visit Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute (CNMI) where located at Bang-Plee, Samut Prakan Province in the afternoon. At CNMI Asst. Prof. Charn Kiatboonsri, M.D., Deputy Director of Ramadhibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital, along with CNMI's executives, hosted an amiable by leading the member of EHAHT visit the new opened wards such as Radiology Department, CSSD, IPD 5E, a gait training robot and hydrotherapy

CNMI was initiated by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to provide health care services to workers and residents of the industrial sprawl east of Bangkok, which is mainly served by private hospitals that few of the residents can afford.
