On May 1, 2020, at Office of the Dean, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with his Deputy Dean, Clinical Professor Pornchai Mulpruek, M.D; Professor Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D, the Deputy Dean for International Relations, and Assistant Professor Prasit Keesukphan, M.D., the Deputy Dean for Physical Environment and Facilities, all as the Faculty’s representatives, graciously received the medical equipments kindly donated by the THAICOM Foundation to support their COVID-19 relief efforts. Such medical equipments include: 5 of Cardiac Monitoring Systems, 1,000 sets of Personal protective equipment (PPE) and 6,000 pieces of N95 masks.

The donation is made in hope to support the medical pesonnel fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic.

On April 28, 2020, Professor Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., the Deputy Dean of International Relations at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi, Mahidol University, along with Professor Emeritus Pornchai Simaroj, M.D., Director of Center for Health Policy and Management and  Dr. Siam Khajarern, M.D., Deputy Director of Ramathibodi Hospital, welcomed the Thai-Taiwan COVID-19 Response Committee to the Faculty’s Administrative Building, on April 28, 2020, in a donations ceremony giving 7,250 pieces of the Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to the Faculty, in order to combat the pandemic.

Representing the Thai-Taiwan COVID-19 Response Committee, were, Dr. Chen-Yuan Tung, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand; Mr. Shu-Tien Liu, Permanent Honorary President and Ms. Hsio-Min Kuo, President, both from the Thai-Taiwan Business Association; Ms. Penni Praisankul, President of the Tawian Association of Thailand; and Ms. Sophia Ching-Ping Yang, Vice President, Thai-Tawian Business Association, CEO Emerald Nonwovens International Co., Ltd, in this generous occasion.

On April 21, 2020, at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, along with the Assistant Dean for Research, Prof. Suradej Hongeng, M.D., both as representatives of the faculty, graciously received 1,000,000 Thai Baht from VIV Group in a donations ceremony to the Faculty.

The funds donated from VIV Group are to aid COVID-19 relief efforts by the Faculty as well as other related research projects. On this occasion, Mr. Chanchai Asawakarn, Executive Director of VIV Group, honorarily attended the donation ceremony as the representative of the Group.

 

 

On April 21, 2020, at the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital,

Clinic.Prof. Pornchai Mulpruek, M.D., Deputy Dean, along with Prof. Sirintara Singhara, Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, led the donations ceremony as the representatives of the faculty. 1,040 sets of IgM/IgG Antibody Test Kits and a Thermoscan Imaging Camera were donated in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation for such antibody kits were made by SaintMed Co., Ltd. On this occasion, Dr. Viroj Vasusuttikulkant, the Chief Executive Officer of SaintMed Co., Ltd., honorarily attended the donation ceremony as the representative of the company.

 

 

His Majesty the King, and Her Majesty the Queen have graciously donated medical devices to the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, to support their COVID-19 relief efforts.

Such instruments include: A set of the patient monitoring system IntelliVue Information Center iX, in addition to 10 patient monitoring modules, both for patients in severe conditions, in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The royal donation ceremony occured at noon, on Tuesday 14 April 2020 at the Administrative Building, with the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, with the Faculty's administrators attending.

 

 

 

On February 24, 2020, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations; Prof. Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, Deputy Dean for Research; together with the project participants from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the opening ceremony of the Project: Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) Survey in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR): 2nd STEP Survey 2019-2020 at Thalat, Vientiane, Lao PDR. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Ambassador, Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane; Mr. Pattarat Hongthong, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Nao Butta, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, Laos PDR, presided over the Opening Ceremony. Feb 17, 2020 at the Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand; Prof.Sirintara Singhara na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, precisely provided an opening remark for the 1st Joint Symposium in Fetal Cardiology between Ramathibodi and UCLA Health, or the 7th Annual Bangkok International Fetal Echocardiography Symposium (BIFES) which was held during February 17th -18th, 2020. The Symposium-held in this year-is focused on the theme of echocardiographic-pathologic correlation of fetal heart diseases. In the event, Prof. Norman H.Silverman, M.D., from Stanford University School of Medicine, who has the most experience in the field of fetal cardiology, with a wide variety of pathological specimens (from fetus and neonate) in common and rare heart anomalies, along with another honorable speakers such as Prof. Mark S.Sklansky, M.D. from Mattel Children’s Hospital, UCLA, and more kindly attended to share their expertise towards echocardiographic-pathologic correlation of fetal heart diseases.

The 1st Joint Symposium in Fetal Cardiology between Ramathibodi and UCLA Health, or the 7th Annual Bangkok International Fetal Echocardiography Symposium (BIFES) was organized by the International Medical Conference Promoting Center (IMCPC) of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.

 

 

On Februrary 5th, 2020, Professor Hidetoshi Endo, M.D., visited the Dean’s Office at Ramathibodi to deliver two lectures as a guest instructor under the topics “Geriatrics and Gerontology in Japan” and “How to Build Integrated Community Care in Japan”. Under this occasion, Professor Endo received a warm welcome from our Dean, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D.; the Dean of International Relations Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D.; Deputy Dean for the School of Hospital Management Prof. Alisa Limsuwan, M.D.; and the Head of Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Orapitchaya Krairit, M.D.

Prof. Hidetoshi Endo, M.D., Ph.D., is the Head of Training and Innovation Center in the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology in Japan. Additionally, he is on the board of directors at the Japan Society of Dementia Research, the Society of Gerontology, the Japan Society of Care Management, and the Japan Academy for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. Prof. Endo has an extensive breadth of experience with prevention medicine and cognition disorders in the elderly, especially for patients with dementia.

Prof. Endo has been involved with the “Orange Plan”, a health policy initiative by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare that aims to shift the emphasis on institution-based care, such as hospitals and geriatric care facilities, to home care and community-centered dementia care.

The lectures today were drawn from Prof. Endo’s experience, expertise, and own research emphasis in reminisce therapy, educating staff in intermediate-stage care, and utilizing more holistic and community-based approaches to dementia care. Ramathibodi is grateful for such an opportunity from an established individual working in the field of geriatrics, and hopes to strengthen our network together in providing care for the emerging “Aging Society”.

Mahidol University along with Ministry of Foreign Affairs precisely organized the orientation ceremony of “The 22nd Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from Laos PDR”. On this occasion, we’d got an honor from Dean of Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Asst.Prof. Weerapong Phumratanaprapin, M.D., providing the welcome speech to the trainees.

This annual training program has been initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and for this year, there are 23 medical and nursing personnel from Laos PDR who will be provided the training programs including Pediatrics, Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Psychiatry, Anatomical pathology and Midwifery Nursing Program during January 28 – March 5, 2020 at Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.

 
Prince Mahidol Award Delegates Site Visit at Ramathibodi Hospital

On January 30th 2020, delegates from the Prince Mahidol Award 2020 arrived for a site study visit which includes presentations on Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) and medical expense disbursement, at the Director’s Office at Ramathibodi Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Ronnachai Kongsakon, the Deputy Dean of Finance and Procurement, on behalf of the Dean, along with Dr. Naronglit Masaya-Anon, Director of the Queen Sirikit Medical Center, acting medical head, welcomed the delegates to the campus.

Following the welcome, Dr. Naronglit Masaya-Anon delivered a lecture under the topic “Thai DRGs used and Audited at Ramathibodi Hospital” to everyone that was present.

On January 28, 2020 at Salathip Restaurant, Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital Mahidol University hosted a dinner reception to honor the recipients of the 2019 Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program.

The festivities, led by Prof. Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, Deputy Dean for Research, as the Dean’s representative; Prof. Dr. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Dean for International Relations; and Prof. Alisa Limsuwan, Deputy Dean for School of Hospital Management, were to honor both Thai and International Advisors who worked with the recipients of the award, in addition to the board of committees from the Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program 2019.
