On October 5th, 2023, a delegation from the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lao PDR, visited the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital at Mahidol University. The meeting took place in Meeting Room no. 714 on the 7th floor of the Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building. Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leela-Udomlipi, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi Hospital, warmly welcomed the delegation, which was led by Dr. Vanphanom Sychareun, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at UHS, Mr. Souksavanh Phanpaseuth, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Science, and Dr. Naly Khaminson, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, while the esteemed members of Ramathibodi's faculty staff were also present, including Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations; Dr. Jiraporn Lininger, Deputy Director for International Relations of the Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Dr. Atsadaporn Niyomyart, Assistant Director of Academic Service at the Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Ms. Nantaporn Lekpittaya, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Section; Ms. Phatsapa Kaewliem, Head of the Central Sterile Supply Department; and Ms. Budtree Tresattayakul, Nutritionist.
During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leela-Udomlipi kindly provided an introduction to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The meeting also involved discussions between the representatives of UHS and Ramathibodi Hospital regarding potential collaboration on training programs for Lao medical personnel. These programs would focus on areas such as Hospital Management, Healthcare Informatics, Pharmacy, and Nursing.
