On January 24, 2021, Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with the members of the Board of Administration, faculties, and student representatives, cordially welcomed a group of attendees from the Prince Mahidol Award Conference 2024 for a field trip focused on " Medical Technology in the Current Geopolitics: Competition, Collaboration, and Technology Transfer." The event took place at the Meeting Room 910, 9th floor, Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, within the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Phayathai Campus.
During this visit, the group from the Prince Mahidol Award Conference 2024 had the privilege of attending a special lecture by Associate Professor Borwornsom Leerapan, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Ph.D. Program in Health Systems Science, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The lecture focused on the intriguing topics of Thai Medical Schools and Geopolitical Dynamics. Additionally, they had the opportunity to listen to presentations from distinguished faculty members on various academic subjects. Notable presentations included Professor Kittinut Kijvikai, M.D., speaking on Robotic Surgery; Associate Professor Atthaporn Boongird, M.D., discussing Gene Therapy for Parkinson's Disease: Technology Transfer; Assistant Professor Chomporn Sitathanee, M.D., shedding light on Proton Therapy; and Professor M.L. Chagriya Kitiyakara, M.D., delivering a talk on Fostering Medical Innovation in Thailand: Aligning Academic Research with National Goals in a Global Context. The study tour group also had the chance to explore academic exhibitions showcasing research on Gene Therapy in Hematology CAR T-cell and Thalassemia by Professor Suradej Hongeng, M.D., as well as the courses offered at the Ramathibodi School of Nursing. Furthermore, the study tour group had the privilege of visiting the work areas of Robotic surgery and CyberKnife (Radiosurgery), witnessing firsthand the advancements in technology and medical procedures.
This study tour was organized by the National Health Security Office (NHSO), in coordination with the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, as part of the PMAC 2024 Field Trips under the Prince Mahidol Award Conference 2024.

การศึกษาดูงานในครั้งนี้ คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี ได้รับการประสานจากสำนักงานหลักประกันสุขภาพแห่งชาติ (สปสช.) ให้เป็นผู้จัดกิจกรรมศึกษาดูงาน (PMAC 2024 Field Trips) ภายใต้งานประชุมวิชาการนานาชาติรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดล ประจำปี ๒๕๖๗ (Prince Mahidol Award Conference 2024)
