On January 28, 2025, the Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program (PMAYP) Conference 2025 hosted its highly anticipated Mentor Lecture in the Lecture Room No. 714 on the 7th floor of the Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. The event focused on the theme “Making Sense of Systemic Changes for Palliative Care Transformation in the UK and Thailand: Setting the Agenda for Future Research, Development, and Implementation.”
The conference began with an opening speech by Professor Samart Pakakasama, Deputy Dean for Education at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, who represented the Dean in welcoming participants.
The highlight of the event was the keynote lecture delivered by Associate Professor Matthew Allsop, Ph.D., from the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences, UK, titled “From Policy to Practice to Pandemonium: The Current State of Digital Approaches for Advance Care Planning.” Dr. Allsop, who serves as the foreign mentor for Ramathibodi’s PMAYP scholarship recipients, provided valuable insights into digital innovations in palliative care.
Following the keynote, Dr. Sarute Chawvavanich, M.D., one of Ramathibodi’s PMAYP scholarship recipient of 2022, shared his experiences and findings through a presentation titled “Realist Evaluation of Digital Approaches for Palliative Care Coordination: Lessons from the UK to Inform Policy Development in Thailand.”
The session concluded with an interactive workshop, “What’s Next for the ‘Realist Evaluation of Digital Approaches for Palliative Care Coordination: Lessons from the UK to Inform Policy Development in Thailand’?” facilitated by Associate Professor Borwornsom Leerapan, M.D., Ph.D., from Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.
The lecture and workshop were met with enthusiastic participation and valuable feedback, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in advancing palliative care research and implementation.

จากนั้น นายแพทย์ศรุต เชาวะวณิช หนึ่งในผู้รับทุนได้รับทุนเยาวชนรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลประจำปี 2565 ได้แบ่งปันประสบการณ์และผลการวิจัยผ่านการนำเสนอในหัวข้อ “Realist Evaluation of Digital Approaches for Palliative Care Coordination: Lessons from the UK to Inform Policy Development in Thailand” ก่อนที่การบรรยายจะทิ้งท้ายด้วยเวิร์กช็อปเชิงในหัวข้อ “What’s Next for the ‘Realist Evaluation of Digital Approaches for Palliative Care Coordination: Lessons from the UK to Inform Policy Development in Thailand’?” ซึ่งดำเนินรายการโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. นายแพทย์บวรศม ลีระพันธ์ จากสถาบันการแพทย์จักรีนฤบดินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี
