
April 23, 2025, at Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Center‘s Meeting Room of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., the Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Sith Phongkitkarun, M.D., Head of the Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology, Assoc. Prof. Krisanat Chuamsaamarkkee, Ph.D., Chairman of the IAEA Anchor Center Establishment Committee, Dr. Putthiporn Charoenphun, Ph.D., Vice Chairman of the IAEA Anchor Center, and several key Faculty members, joined together to host a visit from esteemed delegates of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Accompanying the visit, the representatives from the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Thailand, also kindly participated the event.
The delegation of IAEA was led by Mr. Deng Ge, Director of the Technical Cooperation Department for Asia and the Pacific, and Mr. Gashaw Gebeyehu Wolde, Section Head of the Division for Asia and Pacific, Department of Technical Cooperation. Their visit aimed to gather updates on the IAEA Anchor Centre established at Ramathibodi in 2024 and to discuss potential future collaborations between the organization and the hospital. During the visit, representatives from the Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology guided the IAEA delegates on a facility tour, showcasing the advancements and capabilities of the department.
This meeting highlights the ongoing commitment of Ramathibodi Hospital to foster international cooperation in medical technology and radiation treatment through the establishment of the IAEA Anchor Center since 2024.
