Dr. Somkiat Leelasithorn, Director of Ratchasuda Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, Kingdom of Bhutan”
This training program was organized to enhance the knowledge and teaching skills of eight faculty members from the Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, led by Ms. Sushila Gurung. The program aimed to equip the participants with the ability to design appropriate sign language curricula for deaf students across different educational levels—kindergarten, primary, and secondary.
The training is part of the ongoing collaboration between Ratchasuda Institute and Bhutanese educational authorities to improve the quality of education for persons with hearing impairments. It aligns with Mahidol University’s Strategic Goal 3: “Policy Advocacy, Leaders in Professional / Academic Services and Excellence in Capacity Building for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” which focuses on promoting the transfer of knowledge, enhancing collaboration with both domestic and international strategic partners, and supporting sustainable development through knowledge exchange in the field of special education.
พิธีเปิดโครงการฝึกอบรม “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, Kingdom of Bhutan”
เมื่อวันที่ 9 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2568 ณ ห้องเรียน R87 อาคารเรียนและฝึกปฏิบัติการ สถาบันราชสุดา คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล
อาจารย์นายแพทย์สมเกียรติ ลีละศิธร ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันราชสุดา ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดโครงการฝึกอบรม “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, Kingdom of Bhutan” ซึ่งเป็นการฝึกอบรบที่จัดขึ้นเพื่อเสริมสร้างองค์ความรู้และทักษะในการสอนภาษามือแก่คณาจารย์ชาวภูฏานจาก Wangsel Institute for the Deaf จำนวน 8 ท่าน นำโดย Ms. Sushila Gurung โดยมุ่งหวังให้ผู้เข้ารับการอบรมมีความสามารถในการออกแบบหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนภาษามือที่เหมาะสมกับนักเรียนที่มีความบกพร่องทางการได้ยินในแต่ละช่วงวัย ได้แก่ ระดับอนุบาล ประถมศึกษา และมัธยมศึกษา
การอบรมครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความร่วมมือระหว่างสถาบันราชสุดาและหน่วยงานด้านการศึกษาของประเทศภูฏาน เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพการศึกษาสำหรับผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางการได้ยิน อันสอดคล้องกับยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 3 ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล “Policy Advocacy, Leaders in Professional / Academic Services and Excellence in Capacity Building for Sustainable Development Goals” โดยมีเป้าหมายในการส่งเสริมการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถ (Capacity Building) ร่วมกับพันธมิตรเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ ทั้งในและต่างประเทศ อีกทั้งยังส่งเสริมการดำเนินงานภายใต้เป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) โดยเฉพาะด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ในสาขาการศึกษาพิเศษอย่างต่อเนื่องและยั่งยืน
