On February 29, 2024, at Meeting Room 200, 2nd Floor of the Administration Building, Rajasuda Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University's Salaya Campus, Dr. Wachara Riewpaiboon, M.D., MSc., Deputy Director of the Rajasuda Institute, convened with faculty members, Sign Language Academic Staff, and Sign Language Interpreters to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Ikumi Kawamata, a staff member of the Nippon Foundation Overseas Scholarship Program for the Hearing-impaired. The occasion marked her visit to observe the operations of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Deaf Studies, pioneered by Mahidol University through the Rajasuda Institute, which was the first institution in Asia to offer such a program.
