
On November 28, 2023, at the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, Mr. Tatsuya Yamada, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GramEye Inc., Japan, conducted a demonstration of the Magenta machine. This gram-staining device utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to categorize bacteria into four distinct groups based on color and shape. The audience included medical technologists from the Department of Pathology, led by Assoc. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, and Assoc. Prof. Pitak Santanirand, Head of Clinical Microbiology Laboratory.
The primary objective of Mr. Yamada's visit was to gather feedback and comments from Ramathibodi's experts. This collaborative effort aims to assist GramEye Inc. in enhancing the quality and accuracy of AI detection in their innovative Magenta machine.
