The Virtual Academic Mobility meeting: Professional Future Plans and Networking Event

The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, and Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, Macquarie University, Australia, collaborated in organizing a special session on the Virtual Academic Mobility meeting; under the theme: Professional Future Plans and Networking Event, on May 31, 2021, via the ZOOM online platform. On this occasion, Miss. Ponjit Jithavech, Lecturer from Ramathibodi’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, served as moderator for this special event.

Dr. Sittiprapa Isarangura, Instructor of Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, presented about the professional journey, and idea of What MU CD students can/ will do after their graduation, while the Ramathibodi’s undergraduate CD students, shared their thought about the possible future plans after graduation; studies and career paths. Later, the representatives from Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, of Macquarie University, led by Associate Professor Mridula Sharma, Course Director of Clinical Audiology Program, and Dr. Scott Barnes, Course Director of Master of Speech and Language Pathology Program, also expressed their opinion towards their professional experience and shared the information about the further plans which is possible for MQ students. While the MQ’s postgraduate students; from both the Master Program of Speech and Language Pathology and the Master Program of Master of Clinical Audiology, joined their idea of their goals and planning for the future. The virtual academic mobility in this time ended up with a discussion session between the representatives from both institutes.

This activity aims to encourage further academic exchange between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and Macquarie University, which has established their official collaboration since 2019
