β¨Purpose
The UNESCO International Literacy Prizes are awarded to individuals, government agencies, and civil society organizations to recognize and honor outstanding activities that support literacy development.
πAvailable Prizes
1. The UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize (3 awards)
Established in 1989, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Korea, it gives special consideration to mother language-based literacy development. Each prizewinner receives a medal, a diploma and US$20.000.
2. The UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy (3 awards)
Established in 2005, with the support of the Government of the Peopleβs Republic of China, it gives special consideration functional literacy, leveraging technological environments, in support of adults in rural areas and out-of-school youth. Each prizewinner receives a medal, a diploma and US$30.000.

Step 1: Complete Online Application

Application Deadline: June 6th, 2025
Step 2: Submit Supporting Documents
After completing the online application form, submit all required documents to the Thai National Commission for UNESCO via email: thainatcom@sueksa.go.th
Step 3: Selection Process
The Thai National Commission for UNESCO will review all applications to assess qualifications and select three candidates for each prize category. The selected nominees will then be forwarded to UNESCO for final consideration.
