Congratulations to the gorgeous Ratchasuda Institute’s young lady. Ms. “Cartoon” Chayaphon Thoungthuam, who earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Deaf Studies, Ratchasuda Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.
She’s now joining “Miss& Mister Deaf International 2023” in Dar es Salaam, the largest city and financial hub of Tanzania during November 21 -28, 2023.
In the interview, Ms. Cartoon referred to the “Silent World” that seems to challenge her freedom (of expression) and experiences. Instead, she had a strong desire to go out and live her life like other children, to have a job and to have the right to determine her own life.
For this reason, she decided to compete in the Miss & Mister, Miss Queen, Mrs.Deaf Thailand 2020 contest, believing that the pageant will give her the opportunity to see a wider world and will make her dream to become a model and actor come true.
“Be crowned, hopefully, the hearing people will feel that we can do it ! because the deaf society’s very quiet. Most of the famous are always non deaf. This success will create recognition and reputation that deaf people can do it.”

“การ์ตูน” หูหนวกมาตั้งแต่เกิด ด้วยความรัก พ่อกับแม่จึงดูแลเธออย่างใกล้ชิด เพราะเกรงว่าลูกสาวหูหนวกที่มีใบหน้าสวยและน่ารักคนนี้จะไม่ปลอดภัย ทำให้เธอมีอิสระในการใช้ชีวิตน้อยกว่าพี่สาวหรือแม้กระทั่งเด็กคนอื่น

ในโลกไร้เสียงที่เหมือนจะขาดอิสรภาพและขาดประสบการณ์ เธอกลับมีความปรารถนาอย่างแรงกล้าที่อยากจะออกไปใช้ชีวิตเช่นเดียวกับเด็กคนอื่น ๆ อยากมีงานทำ อยากมีสิทธิกำหนดชีวิตของเธอเองได้ ด้วยเหตุนี้เธอจึงแอบพ่อไปประกวด Miss & Mister, Miss Queen, Mrs.Deaf Thailand 2020

เพราะเธอเชื่อว่า เวทีประกวดฯ จะเปิดโอกาสให้เธอได้เห็นโลกกว้างกว่าที่เธอเคยเห็น และจะทำให้ความฝันที่อยากเป็นนางแบบ นักแสดงของเธอเป็นจริงขึ้นมาได้

“เราได้รับตำแหน่งก็หวังว่าเราจะได้เป็นดารานักแสดงที่มีชื่อเสียงที่เป็นคนหูหนวก อยากให้คนหูดีรู้สึกว่า เราก็ทำได้ เพราะสังคมคนหูหนวกจะเงียบมาก ส่วนมากคนที่สร้างชื่อเสียงก็จะเป็นคนหูดี เราอยากจะสร้างชื่อเสียงให้ได้เหมือนกัน ว่าคนหูหนวกก็ทำได้”
