Research area

The goal of our research is to understand the role of extracellular vesicles (EVs) released from SARS-CoV-2 infected cells and mesenchymal stem cells on SARS-CoV-2 infection. We are interested in microRNAs and proteins identified in EVs that could play an important role in intercellular communication and viral infection. We also expand our study to other respiratory viruses including influenza virus and respiratory syncytial virus.

Another focus is to understand the molecular mechanism underlying cell-to-cell transmission of the influenza virus
(e.g. trogocytosis and tunneling nanotube).
