Sleep medicine is rapidly evolving globally. There is an unmet need for professional training at every level. This academic training is to serve for the increasing needs of care for patients with sleep disorders. Fundamentally, sleep is vital for life and good sleep leads to healthy life. Untreated sleep disorders and sleep deprivation lead to increased mortality and morbidity. Ramathibodi Sleep laboratory was established in 1994 by our 3 professors: Professor Poonkasem Charoenpan, MD from the Pulmonary Division, Prof. Prasert Boongird, MD from the Neurology Division and Associate Professor Kanit Mantaporn, MD from the Otolaryngology Department. Since then we had performed over 10,000 polysomnographies and including other medical cares for patients with various sleep disorders ranging from simple to complex cases, and from infants to elderly. Our history of strong clinical experience and together with our vision “Towards the multidisciplinary approach for sleep and sleep disorder” will provide our Msc. students excellent learning experience in sleep medicine to become the “all-round” sleep specialists. We aim to produce graduates who wish to have leadership career as sleep specialist in many aspects of sleep in different fields. To support this, we provide extensive coursework and clinical training with our team from all specialties involved in Sleep Medicine including Pulmonary, Neurology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, Dentistry, and Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Additionally, students will be required to conduct a research and achieve an international publication with support from our team. Students will benefit in learning to perform a good research methodology and practice. Join our team in Sleep Medicine. We look forward to working with you. |
