Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing and staff of professors participated in International Conference at Taiwan.

 
 

Assistant Professor Dr. Jariya Wittayasooporn, Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Tiraporn Junda, Assistant Professor Dr. Bualuang Sumdaengsit, and Lecturer Dr. Piyawan Pokpalagon participated in the International Conference on “Building the Collaborative Research Platform and Professional Training Workshop for Cancer Treatment, Hospice/Palliative Care and Bioethics in Southeast Asian Countries” which was hosted by Taiwan Academy of Hospice Palliative Medicine, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Department of Nursing, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University and Taiwan Bioethics Association in Taiwan during December 15-22, 2014.
 

The conference consisted of 3 sections. The 1st section focused on Palliative care, end-of-life care, psychosocial care, family, and spiritual care. The keynote speakers were such as Professor Shiela Payne from Lancaster University, and Professor Magaret O’Conner from Monash University. The 2nd section was a study visit to a Hospice ward, Palliative care ward and Tzu Chi Foundation. The last section focused on Bioethics. The conference aimed at sharing knowledge, creating nursing network, and collaboration in research internationally, as well as to encourage the development of Hospice care and Palliative care in Southeast Asian countries. The participants of this conference were from Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand.
