Dr. Ruby L. Wilson, a distinguished nursing consultant affiliated with the Rockefeller Foundation, was a valued collaborator during the initial establishment phase of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. Her contributions to shaping the curriculum, which adhered to international standards, and her visionary perspective of integrating education with practical service have left an indelible mark. Dr. Wilson believed in the symbiotic relationship between education and practice, emphasizing that the nursing profession thrives not only within the confines of classrooms, but also in the real-world application.

She was also an instrumental co-founder of the Department of Nursing Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. In recognition of her vital role, the institution bestowed upon her the honor of naming it the "Ramathibodi School of Nursing."
