The First Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology, October 2-3, 2018
Bangkok- October 2, 2018– In light of personalized medicine and smart medicine being the trend of next generation medicine, Translational Medicine MSc and PhD Programs together with Division of Postgraduate Study and Division of International Relations at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, hosted The 1st Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology, under the theme: “Next-Generation Era of High Throughput Smart Medicine and Personalized Medicine” at the Meeting Room on the 7th floor of Somdetch Phra Debaratana Building.
Twelve distinguished speakers from the 2 leading universities of Taiwan including National Sun-Yet Sen University and National Taiwan University joined the symposium. The MSc and PhD Programs in Translational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and College of Sciences, National Sun Yat-sen University has jointly signed the double degree program agreement for both Ph.D. and Master degrees in 2017, which is the first double degree program between Taiwan and Thailand. Furthermore, Ramathibodi School of Nursing also has long-term collaborations with the National Taiwan University.
On this occasion, Prof.Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, as the representative of the Dean, Prof. Duangrurdee Wattanasirichaigoon, M.D., Deputy Dean for Graduate Education, and Dr.Chen-Yuan Tung, Representative of Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Thailand together welcomed our distinguished speakers. Prof. Sirintara stated during her remark that Ramathibodi has succeeded in setting up an official collaboration with National Sun Yat-sen University in order to establish the official long-term research collaboration and a Cooperation Agreement for Master and Doctoral Double Degree Programs and also encouraged collaborations of using animal models to study human diseases. While Dr.Chen-Yuan Tung expressed his willing to promote the exchanges and cooperation in medical education, science and technology between Thailand and Taiwan. He further mentioned that there are many scholarships provided for Thailand students to study in Taiwan.
The Panel Sessions during these 2 days scientific forum focused on the following key topics:

• _Regenerative medicine, immunotherapy and pharmacogenomics
• _Pharmacology
• _Cancer
We sincerely hope 2018 The 1st Thailand-Taiwan Forum on Medical Science and Technology or-ganized by International Relations Section and Graduate Education Section of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol Uni-versity provides a structured platform for the young blooded researchers to share information and provide the latest updates on their research projects, particularly on Medical Science and Technology in Smart Medicine and Personalized Medicine.
