7. Course Description: The elective rotation in Pediatric Infectious Diseases is opened to medical students and physicians interested in outpatient/inpatient infectious diseases in Thailand (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV, tropical infectious diseases) and also infection in immunocompomised hosts (e.g. hematologic malignancies, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, solid organ transplantation).
8. Objectives:
- Understand common pediatric infectious diseases problems in outpatient clinic and inpatient wards
- Understand comprehensive immunization program in Thai context
- Recognize clinical signs and symptoms, develop differential diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with common pediatric infectious diseases and infection in immunocompromised hosts
