Introduction
The Regional Training Center (RTC) program is funded by the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), which enables long-term partnerships between emerging centers in economically developing countries and mentoring centers in the high-income countries.
Through this program, the Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand is an emerging center collaborating with the Division of Hematology & Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The six-years program will include training professionals involved in the Thrombosis and Hemostasis field, enabling the exchange of students and teachers among the institutions involved, develop educational courses, internships and partnerships in research projects.
Objective
The objectives of participating in the RTC program are to provide training opportunities to the individual trainee, and to improve the patients’ management and clinical research which will benefit health care in the community and region through collaboration with UNC Chapel Hill to expand clinical, and research capacities in thrombosis and hemostasis at our center.
