History
The Thrombosis and Hemostasis Center is one of the Centers of Excellence of the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. It was founded by the faculty on November 10, 2022. The center covers the care of all inherited and acquired bleeding and clotting disorders, of which hemophilia is the care model. Our responsibility is to integrate knowledge of medical science in to the care of patients and to be a model for comprehensive patient care.
Mission
To be one of the leaders in thrombosis and hemostasis in southeast Asia.
Goals
1. Improve the treatment by providing standard care in Thailand.
2. Perform research studies to created new knowledge and provide patients with a better quality of life.
Main activities
1. Medical treatment: provide care for patients of all ages and perform patient-centered multidisciplinary care, including hematologists, physiotherapists, dentists, orthopedic physicians, nurses, child development worker, and social workers. The care will cover patients referred to the center.
2. Academics: provide training to educated medical personnel, nurses, and scientists for developing patient care as well as diagnostic laboratory technique.
3. Research: develop new knowledge and treatments for patients, as well as work with other research institutions, both national and international.
4. Organize activities: educate patients and give patients the opportunity to share their knowledge and self-care experiences with others. A Facebook group (WERAMA) has been established as a source of information.
