Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Operation program, Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University is a professional course developed according to the Emergency Medical Act 2008, that aims to produce emergency medical practitioners with knowledge, skills and emergency action attitude for emergency patients. The course has the Emergency Medicine Committee as the committee according to the Emergency Medical Act 2008, who have the authority to certify organizations and courses of education or train the practitioner, provide certificates or academic marks to people who have passed education or training, including supervising the operations of emergency personnel to be in accordance with the rules, conditions and standards set, by appointing a committee to certify organization and education and training courses for practitioners and provide certificates or academic marks to people who have passed education or training to perform duties in accordance with the regulations of the Emergency Medicine Sub-committee on the certification of organizations and courses of education or train the practitioner and provision of certificates or academic marks to people who have passed education or training 2011 and the Emergency Medicine Committee’s announcement on Provision of certificates and emergency operations of operators 2011 for the program to be of 4 years bachelor course in accordance with the standard of higher education curriculum.
The program has been approved in the meeting of the Board of Managing Directors of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital on 11th November 2014, approved in the meeting of the Acting Committee of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital on 13th November 2014, approved in the meeting of the Sub-committee for screening of undergraduate courses of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital on 26th November 2014, approved in the meeting of Mahidol University Council on 17th December 2914, approved from the considerations of Program screening committee of Mahidol University on 12th February 2015, approved in the meeting of Deans of Mahidol University on 8th April 2015 and the University Council approved to start the program on 22nd April 2015. It has been approved by the considerations from the Emergency Medicine Sub-committee on the certification of organizations and courses of education or train the practitioner and provision of certificates or academic marks to people who have passed education or training on 13th November 2015. The meeting of Mahidol University Council acknowledged the starting of the program on 15th July 2015 and had been approved on 20th April 2016. However, the department has planned to accept 35 students per year and currently has the 4th year students as the highest class. The Office of the Higher Education Commission has acknowledged the program on 29th June 2016.
