At present, based on X-ray technology, there are many kinds of diagnostic radiology equipments:
- General X-ray machine – to examine chest, bone, … (film-based or digital detector-based machine)
- Mammography – specially designed to detect woman breast abnormalities
- Fluoroscopy – particularly designed to examine moving organs (dynamics)
- Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) – especially designed to examine blood vessels
- Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner – modern X-ray machine requiring image reconstruction.
- However, diagnostic radiologists also use not-X-ray-based equipments, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner and ultrasonography.
