Background and Significance In addition to being the leading cause of death worldwide, cancer is also rising in the ranks of causes of mortality in Thailand. According to the Strategy and Planning Division, Ministry of Public Health Thailand, cancer is regarded to be the number one cause of death, and the number is steadily increasing over time, having a tremendous impact upon the Thai health system, affecting quality of life, society, and economic and social development. As a response, the Faculty has formulated a plan for the prevention and control of the development of cancer, and increasing assistance in the care among cancer patients in Thailand.
Scope and Area of Study Thailand
Purpose To establish strategies for cancer prevention and control at the national level.
