Background and Significance Surveying the level of domestic violence is a crucial component in identifying problems within Thai society. In finding root causes to problems, and the conditions of which problems arise, a 'database' was created for surveillance and to promote warning signs of domestic violence, in addition to leading to appropriate solutions and management of such problems.
Scope and Area of Study 9 provinces, by region, in Thailand
Purpose To survey the prevalance of domestic violence against women and family members. This survey is systemized, and can represent families in Thailand on average.

  Surveying the amount of domestic violence at the national level at a systematically sampled level to represent families in Thailand, in addition to creating a database to analyze the behaviors of domestic violence in order to monitor and alleviate each situation as appropriate.

Project Results The Department of Women's Affairs and Family, at the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, has used information from this database as an indicator for monitoring the prevalence at the percentage level of violence against women and family members in the Family Action Plan 2020-2022 (BE 2563-2565), strategy 4. This strategy aims to provide families with support, protection, and development for all forms of social networks.
