Background and Significance The Ramathibodi Poison Center, in conjunction with the National Health Security Office, Government Pharmaceutical Organization, Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, Food and Drug Administration Ministry of Public Health, and the Thai Society of Clinical Toxicology has implemented the “National Antidote Program” to ensure that all poisoned patients in the whole country can access to the essential antidotes since 2011. In addition to receiving attention from the South East Asia Regional Office (WHO SEARO) of the World Health Organization, the Poison Center's work has earned the title of being the leading operator in the administration and setup a risk-based distribution and stock control system for antidotes for neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia Region.
Scope and Area of Study Southeast Asia Region
Purpose To secure the supply of these life-saving medicines in the SEA Region through coordinated procurement and the emergency response pathway with support from Thailand’s national antidote program.
